After the debacle that was Vista, I'm very leery of spending my hard earned money on another Windows OS. I understand that Windows 7 is nothing like the problems that Vista had, but still. I've never been one to be a part of the early adopter crowd until all the kinks and problems are ironed out first.

Personally, I'm going to take a wait and see approach.

I hear ya, but from a long beta tester, My wife even has 7 now ( for a month) and loves it! We agree its easy to use and no blue screens, after I tested it for a while I then put it on 4 laptops at home all run smooth!

If you change your mind you will not be sorry in the least.

I'm giddy, but that 95% because I'm finally replacing my decrepit 5 1/2 year old laptop with a new one. Completely skipped the Vista era I did.

    2012 happens perhaps. LOL.
My time-zone still have about 20minutes to reach Thursday.
But I am sure nothing gonna happen because Microsoft/Windows stuffs usually follow US time-zone.

I guess I'm in the minority but Vista's has been working fine for me so far. I'll probably update eventually (perhaps in December because that's when I have more free time) but I'm in no rush.

    W7? It's so passé.

I've been running W7 via Technet for several weeks now. And the betas well beforehand.

Just waiting for W9 now. (We know that we can skip W8 as history has dictated already) ;)

You'd swear to Mac users that OSX is their Jesus whilst Jobs is God.

I agree. It's just an OS. But the functionality added to the OS benefits many people. I for one can say the features are welcome to me and are going to save me a lot of time.

Probably has to do with the way most PC users (Windows and *nix alike) see the OS as a platform for running programs, whereas Mac users see the OS as an integral part of this "appliance" most people call a "computer".

Heh, I know what you mean. That's because for Mac users, an OS is this wonderful and mysterious thing that God, sorry Jobs has given them. And Jobs certainly behaves that way, too...

Absolutely. But in the specific case of Win7, there is nothing really groundbreakingly new. It's Vista 2.0, essentially. Nothing wrong with that, mind you.
