Tried Ripping CD music to MP3 in Windows Media Player 10

It says you chose MPEG-3 layer, you need a 'mp3 encoder pack' ???

They kindly offer a link to buy one of three MP3 Encoders.

WHAT GIVES ?!!! I never had this problem.

I prefer to RIP in WMP vs loading another MP3 encoder, but don't know what to do? I've spent an hour and a half reading about Registry Editing, and how WMP 10 can in fact Rip into MP3 format.

What are you folks using ? Thanks !!

Thanks radditz, I did try that and saw another post for WMP 11 in another area.

I just updated to WMP 11 and they put the 'MP3' option back in (vs 'MPEG Layer 3') and it Ripped just fine!

BTW - I like the look of WMP 11 better anyway.
