Every time I connect my mp3 player to my PC and I have WMP 11 open the sync pane opens up and asks me if I want to sync however I do not want this to happen. I manage the files on the player manually, I have dug around in the options and done a Google search and have yet to find a solution.
Thanks!

Looks like you may you're stuck with it if you attach your mp3 while WMP is open. From the help guide under sync
Can I stop the Player from starting sync when I connect my device?
Yes. If your device syncs automatically, the Player starts sync every time you connect the device to a computer. You can turn this option off if you want to choose when sync starts by doing the following:
Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
The properties dialog box for your device is displayed. In the Sync tab, clear the Start sync when device connects check box.
The next time you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync
Regardless, it will probably still ask you if you want to sync. -

When the player appears on the left underneath the the list of items there. Right click on it and click "advance options", make sure "Start sync when device is checked" is unchecked. Also if your player has an MTP/ or plays for sure mode (What Brand/model do you have, maybe I can tell for you.) It tends to work better if you use your player with WMP10 or 11 in that mode rather than MSC mode.
