Is your CPU usage (check task manager) spiking during these lag phases?

Are you viewing movies from the DVD drive or from your hard drive? Also what format are the movies in? (file type: avi, mpeg, mp4, mov, evo, vob, etc.)

I'm viewing them from my HDD in mainly avi form. The CPU usage does spike.

Use a lighter media player such as KM Player or GOM
