    Hi.

I tried to change the 128000 to 160000, but after a reboot it still rips at 128kbps.

    any other suggestions

    thanks

    John.

Why not just use 192? It sounds better than 160. I use 256, but i cant tell the difference between it an 192, but i can between 160 and 192.

    Hi.

Looks like i am going to have to use 192kbps

I have a friend that still uses 128, i have tried talking him into at least 160.

    Thanks

    John.

Change the rip options in WMP11. I would always rip at wma variable bit rate or mp3 (best quality)

I know you can rip to 160mbps WMA format. I did notice, though, that if you select MP3, it only allows 128 and 192.

    Hi.

well i dont need 160mbps anymore, I got my new mp3 player a sony nwz-a818

And 128mbps sounds fantastic in it, it has something called DSEE sound enhancement, basically it tried to replace the high frequency's that compression removes.

I have a apple ipod classic 80gb, and they both sound about the same at 160mbps or above, but at 128mbps the sony blows it away.

    regards

    john.

Download dBpoweramp and rip in LAME V2, you won't regret it.
