Hi to all,
Recently I got a Wacom Intuos 3 Tablet for my creative work (I'm a Graphic Designer). It works great with my programs, but sometimes when I'm drawing the screen goes to the screensaver. It looks like Vista isn't considering the pen pointer movements in the screen, so it goes to the screesaver. I've put the time to the screensaver to appear every 10 minutes to annoy me less, but i would like to know the reason of this strange issue.
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
2 Gb of Ram
Latest Wacom Drivers installed
Thanks in advance...

Not sure on this one, but I have an Intuos 2....then at the logon screen I kept seeing the on-screen keyboard, like Vista now thought my laptop was a tablet PC. This can be changed by disabling the "Wacom Virtual HID Driver" within the Task Manager. Good luck!

Thanks for the response, but I like the tablet PC features in Vista, so I don't want to disable the driver.

I haven't noticed any issues with my Intuos 3 - though I do admittedly have my screensaver set to two hours at the moment
. When it's plugged in as a desktop replacement there's really little point in setting a short timer - but of course, if you're running on batteries it's a different matter entirely.
The Tablet PC Input panel annoyed the hell out of me initially though (hand writing isn't even available with my Danish keyboard setting, so I just get the rather useless virtual keyboard), and I couldn't seem to find a way to turn it off without also disabling the tablet partially or entirely.
I can't find the suggested "Wacom Virtual HID Driver" in the task manager either - only what appears to be the basic Wacom tablet service drivers (Wacom_Tablet.exe and Wacom_TabletUser.exe) and the TabTip.exe accessories that should be responsible for the tablet PC input but seem to kill the Wacom entirely if disabled.
Well, nevermind - the input panel is just parked at the side of the screen, and the virtual keyboard/hand writing panel appears to have stopped popping up in assorted text fields when I'm just using a regular mouse. -
I just tried setting my screen saver (or more accurately, display off in the power management settings) to two minutes and worked for around ten with nothing but the tablet in Painter X - my two monitors didn't blank.
Of course you said it only happens to you sometimes, so I guess that could be the case for me as well if I tried several times. -
