Ever since I plugged in a Benq monitor to my HP dm4 the laptop would wake up from sleep randomly. My external keyboard and mouse have been disabled to wake the laptop up and I don't know where else to look. I've just updated my BIOS to F23, the latest one. How should I fix this?

go trough all the devices and disable all wakeup stuff. does the external screen have an usb plug or something? i always have to just turn off wakeup everywhere where it's switchable.

The screen does not and it does not have wake up support in Device Manager.

Just look in your power profiles advanced settings. There should be an option like ''wake up to sheduled tasks'' somewhere in there. Turn that off and your done.

Open up your 'Network Adapters' in Device Manager and under the Power Management Tab of both your Wireless WiFi Link and Ethernet NIC uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer". Just another area to be aware of.

I've searched and clicked every device in my Device Manager. Only the USB keyboard and mouse have Power Management tabs and wake up support have been disabled.

Could it be possible that some scheduled task is waking it up? It's weird because this never happened before.

Yes a scheduled task can be what is causing it to wake up.

How do I check for this? I recently started using a Benq external monitor and a USB keyboard, before which I never had this issue.

Look up Scheduled Task Manager. It will let you review all of the schdeuled tasks and there is a switch on each one that indicates if it can or cannot wake the machine.
