So I just formatted and installed all my drivers/apps but I noticed my laptop fans spinning up even though I wasn't touching the laptop.
I then launched task manager and noticed logitechg_discord.exe was causing all this. It was using around 25-30% CPU constantly.
I then ended the task.
Now to stop this from happening again, Download Everything Portable, extract it and then launch it, this is a much better search tool than the Windows built in search and is much faster.
Type: logitechg_discord.exe in the search bar on the top inside Everything
Once it finds that app, right click on it and select path, you will then see that logitechg_discord.exe
Just go up one folder, and delete the entire applet folder
Nothing will go wrong with your Logitech device, this will only prevent the so called lighting per app for Discord (who needs that)

So i made a good move disabling it when prompted to
. I believe you can still do disable it from Discord settings even if you accidentally enabled it the first time (?).

I don't have discord installed so when I installed the Logitech Gaming Software and rebooted, I didn't get any prompts or even know that there is such an applet until I noticed the abnormal CPU usage.macmyc likes this. -
Woah, how is it even possible that the add-on got activated if Discord wasn't even installed? I received the notification (after updating the logitech suite ofc) because Discord was actually installed and running otherwise i would've been clueless until now. Good to know!

I bought two brand new Logitech mouses last month. And I haven't touched the software. Why should I?

1) To use surface turning so make your mouse more precise with your current mousepad
2) to update your mouse firmware and make it faster
3) to control your mouse lights if your mouse sports any lights
4) to configure mouse buttons and settings -
I know it's new firmware ready. Will the mouse firmware, software and the lights make better results in Cinbench or Wprime?
Even in Firestrike?

I uninstalled the Logitech Bloatware Software, unplugged my G900 mouse and plugged in my SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Mouse which uses the same driver as my SteelSeries Keyboard
Problem solved

Logitech GAMING peripherals are one of the most poorly built, poorly optimized, bloatwared gaming accessories out there. I'd stay away from them as much as possible, just buy peripherals with non "GAMING" tags on them. If it's an audio accessories buy from companies that specializes in audio quality such as Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and the like.
Source: Been using and buying Logitech accessories for 2 years, giving them enough chance for each new products but always got disappointed at the end so I finally got rid of those garbage and gave them away to people who doesn't care about quality.Last edited: Jun 23, 2017Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Obviously you haven't used Razer.

If Razer would pay me for giving them a good praise of their products, well...I'd be broke as hell. They are top dog of garbage gaming products, retarded CEO, over-hyped mass advertisement, and a whole bunch of dudes defending them like fanboys.Last edited: Jun 23, 2017

Agree. I've sent out my only Razer junk. In the dustbin. And never again!!

yeah their Razer Synapse software is another buggy piece of garbage. -

Compared to Logitech GS and Corsair Utility Engine, Razer Synapse is a haven of stability and ease of use. -

j00 must have never used the SteelSeries Engine my friend
Also, my experience with the Razer Synapse is from 2 years old. Basically it kept prompting me for an update, I hit update, it does it thing, but it didn't actually update, then keep prompting me for an update again. Maybe that has been fixed now so don't take my word for it -

Yeah, I had that problem, but that was fixed a long time ago. I've found Synapse to be a nice middle ground between Logitech's user friendly but still somewhat limited driver and the highly customizable but very unintuitive software from Corsair.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Logitech was good until they started including bloatware.
Take for example, you have a mouse.........you install the Logitech Gaming Software BUT, look at your startup entries, it installs and loads drivers for Logitech Gaming Surround, Joysticks, etc. and now those darn applets....... Because of this I am not gonna buy the G902 and will keep hunting for different mice.
My SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Mouse has been serving me for 2 years now and it's rock solid and comfy. I hope they release a new Sensei Wireless MouseBeemo likes this. -
Just recently gave away a brand new G403 Wireless and G433 Wireless headset, both have noticeable input lag...yet they claim it doesn't have input lag, as for the G433 ear pad cushion feels terrible in my ear, it feels like sand paper...that being said it's my last purchase of Logitech garbage...I probably given them enough chance cos I have a total of eight gaming accessories from them all failed to live up to my expectation.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

The G403 and G900 have been measured to have only 1ms of additional click latency in wireless vs. wired mode which is negligible, and in wireless is still much lower than popular wired mice like Deathadders and Zowies, so I'm surprised to hear that. Personally could perceive no lag difference whatsoever on the G900/G403 in wireless, if anything wired felt less responsive due to the cable drag. G602 is a different story though, feels way laggier than G502 no question.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how an audio output device like a headphone can have "input" lag LOL. But I agree about Logitech gaming headsets, they're not great just like majority of gaming headsets in general. Their keyboards and mice are much more solid IMO. -
Yeah, Bloatware is unwanted

I can see where that software would be useful if you're using the built-in keyboard, though. Since I don't, I used MSI Dragon Center to turn off the backlighting, then uninstalled it in favor of MSI's beta "Silent Mode" utility to control the fan curves of the CPU and GPU.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
