I personally didn't find it to be all that useful. It's not really a huge step up from email, and since Google decided to be a pain and not make it open source, it never got taken up.
The method of communication and sharing that it utilizes isn't all that impressive. Companies already have their own apps that have a lot of the features that Wave does. -

Alas, Google decided to pull the plug. At least it'll be around for a little while longer, even if further development has halted.
I hope everyone who used it has had a good run with it though! I certainly didn't contribute too much to it but I had fun chatting with NBR users through a site not associated with NBR! -
Wave is dead.Rest in peace...In the end the user is the ultimate judge. And users have decided to send Wave to its resting place.

I really tried to like Wave, and even suggested a group of us used it as a collaborating tool for a University project, but it just didn't flow all that well, and like others said, it's not that far away from E-Mail. Also, some of the older students in our group found it pretty hard getting on with Wave.

I'm not overly surprised that Wave has been discontinued. Google should have spent more time working on it and launched it as a a solid beta product instead of a half-baked buggy preview, and everyone should have had access to try it out instead of it being an invitation-only product (which severely handicapped its overall usefulness factor).
If Google are smart, they'll integrate the collaboration features into their other services, like Gmail and Google Docs. It'd be more useful than Buzz... -
This is really a bummer, considering that all of the collaboration we did for our weekly tech radio show was done in Wave. Wave was a good and useful program for exchanging short messages and in places that email wasn't an efficient option.
