Hello,
Could you please help me with making my webcam work again?
I originally had Windows Vista on my Sony Vaio VGN FZ 290. Now, I have Windows 7 Ultimate. My webcam shows "not connected" on yahoo messenger. I looked into device manager and the driver installed is generic. I've been reading some other threads where it appears to suggest uninstalling "sony programs" and letting windows 7 update automatically. I am not sure how I should go about doing this.
If there is a different solution, please let me know. I spent some time with a sony representative who remotely accessed my computer for hardware ids and said .inf file of the driver needs to be manually extracted and installed?
Hope this is sufficient information. Thank you for your time.

Coolguy- I did as you said, and my webcam works on both yahoo and skype. I see that a different device displays now in device manger under imaging devices. Thank you!
Could you also help me with my Lexmark X4550 all in one printer?
It cannot be detected by my computer anymore, and installing drivers from Windows, and Lexmark (windows 7 32 bit recommended driver and firmware) haven't helped.
I have been uninstalling Lexmark imaging studio from Programs & features section of control panel and then rebooting, prior to new installation. A remote access customer rep. as well as a driver identifier/detector software (that I downloaded but later deleted) suggested multiple updates as necessary after PC scan.
