Hey guys, this just happened all of a sudden two days ago. I was browsing my usual websites but when I turned off Chrome and opened it again, whenever I visit a https:// website, it takes away the https and opens it as an unsecure site. Also, I cannot open gmail. I tried using Hitman Pro to scan for potential viruses and none are found. Anyone know how I can fix this issue?

Reinstalled and wiped all Chrome-related data - did not work. Same issue as before.

Visited those https websites using Firefox - same issue as Chrome.

Network connection is fine. It shouldn't have to do with browser preference considering I used two freshly-installed browsers. I also tried system restore to the time when it did work and that did not help either.

Are you connecting to a router?

If so, try connecting directly to your cable box.

HTTPS uses port 443 by default. We can make sure that port is open. I'll post instructions if you still need them after the cable box.

Hopefully it's just a port that somehow got closed by malware and NOT someone on your router redirecting you to http.

Got it figured out. My friend thought it was be funny to set my computer's date to June 2001... As soon as I set it back to current time the problem was gone.
