Hi lads,
I seem to have a really weird problem, I just got a new hard drive so I went and reinstalled everything from scratch so I could update periodically and such.
Ok, So I installed Adobe CS4, everything is fine. I back up my drive, still no problem.
Not sure what stage, but my Fireworks icon loses the picture on my desktop, I right click it, in the properties, I see the picture... weird...
I check the icon in my start menu, same thing...
I go to the actual program directory, fireworks.exe does not have a picture either... I check properties, and the picture is there...
I copy pasted the exe, suddenly the picture is there again... I delete original with no icon picture. rename the one with a working icon back to original name and picture disappears again... I was googling very hard and couldnt find a solution.
So I restored my drive back to the stage just after installing cs4. Restore completes, icons working... Im very happy.
I installed Flash Player and NVidia Drivers 186.03 so that I can browse, etc and nothing else. Suddenly icon picture is gone again...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, Im using Vista 64bit HP
-
After incessant googling, I found something...
I tried deleting iconcache and then restarted. no result.
I went to change the color from 32bit to 16bit, the icon starts working on all shortcuts and the program. but if I turn it back to 32bit, it stops working...
Can anyone pls explain this to me, I like 32bit colors -
Ok, maybe im stupid but another update.
I could only get that icon working in 16bit for some reason... not sure why it affects fireworks and not the rest of the suite, but anyway...
I restarted computer, i change color back to 32bit from 16bit and IT WORKS!!!
BUT my network icon in system tray disappeared...
this is starting to get on my ***s
I restart twice more and doing lots of googling, it got resolved on its own...
I hope that someone finds this useful but i would still appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable about this could explain what happened....
