Whenever I use more memory intense programs, in particular when I open services or process. My memory jumps to like 87-93%...
However, when I shut down every program, and use the task manger to make sure they are shut down, processes and everything, my memory only goes down
to 90%,.
So i have no programs running, and my memory just stays at 90% use...
When i first starts my comp, its only at 50%.....
Why is my memory not going back down, after i shut down all the running programs, even shut the processes down as well?

When no other programs want memory, Vista takes control of it and uses it to preload applications that it thinks you might use soon. The technology is called SuperFetch.

It seems like there is something else causing this problem, beyond super fetch...
It goes to like 90% and does not go down at all, and then my computer becomes really slow.
Would superfetch reallytake up 90%? seems to high...
Think I should turn superfetch off? -
Superfetch based on logic that unused RAM is a waste. That is the reason behind it.
Dont be afraid that your system will lack of free RAM, SuperFetch can easily swap it if you are opening program that is not in its cache. It is designed that way.
Superfetch is really useful for people that have a constant pattern when using a PC. It can predict which programs that frequently use and load the system files in the RAM for faster loading.

People who use PC for daily Office files, web browsing and movies will gain benefit from this. -
SuperFetch should not cause that though. (It only uses RAM that'd otherwise be unused. If you recently closed a program, Vista just keeps it around in memory as long as the memory isn't needed for anything more important, which is why the memory usage may not go down)
But if the memory is needed for anything else, Vista will instantly give up the memory so it shouldn't affect performance negatively. -
Is this on an OEM install of Vista or a clean install? If it isn't a clean install it's probably being bogged down by bloat/crapware. A good rule of thumb is to reformat you're computer with a clean install of windows as soon as you take it out of the box before you put anything valuable on the hd.
