I was watching some Matt Damon movie last night, and all of a sudden the computer just froze. No blue or black screen, just froze. I didn't take it too seriously and just unplugged it and took out the battery and went to sleep. This morning, I turned my computer on, and everything was fine, but it froze when I was typing an email. So I forced shut down, and started in Safe Mode, tried to type the email again, and it froze again. Then I did System Restore, and then tried again, and it still froze within a few minutes. I don't know what to do.... Someone please help, school starts in two days and I need to get it working again.

    Check your temperatures with HWMonitor.
Do you have any external devices attached? (Hard drives, printers, NB coolers?)
One could be malfunctioning and causing this.

No external devices. Not even a mouse. Temperature should be fine. It's in its 40's.

Is everything installed properly in device manager? Run the intel chipset inf to update your chipset drivers.
Run a memory test (Memtest86) and hard drive test (GWScan)

I will try running the two tests. Trying to find a place to download GWScan. But I'm not too sure about device manager as I know nothing about computers...

Hold down the FN key, windows key, and the delete break key, this will open system properties (windows + pause break on a standard keyboard).
Click the hardware tab, click device manager, make sure nothing is a yellow question mark, or has a yellow exclamation point or red x next to it.

Ok, everything's fine. No yellow or red or marks of any sort.

And I don't know how to run memtest86... I think it might be a Firefox problem, because the computer has been on for a while, and I've tried to run some programs (WinRAR, Word, notepad) and did things like checking Devide Manager, and the computer is still running. It would have froze already if I was using FF.
