I was filling out an online resume when my keyboard seemed to have went into an alternate mode, it was displaying "`" for @, and letters like a capital "E" with an apostrophe on top. Is there anything I may have pressed (windows xp function) that could have made some sort of switch?

I just reset my pc, which is annoying... and it stopped. But this wasn't the first time.

While in the Regional Language settings click the 'Languages' tab then the 'Details...' box. There you can turn off the 'Language Bar' on the desktop and also make sure the 'Key Settings...' are set to 'none'. <-- The key settings are probably the issue since they might be set to use 'hot keys' to change the language.
