    Ok,

So I just replaced my screen on my Dell L401x laptop. I boot her up and bam, I get a wefault.exe has failed. It also has like 10 other programs that have failed to work properly on bootup of windows.
Malwarebites and CA internet security center won't find anything wrong with my PC, neither will windows defender. Something obviously is wrong because I cannot access some data on my laptop or change some settings on my laptop, like getting into the settings panel of ObjectDock.

I looked all over the internet for the solution and could not find anything. I tried disabling the alerts and that didn't do anything. It's not an alert problem but a settings problem because the virus/malware won't let me do certain things on my laptop. I tried a windows restore the day before I downloaded anything and that did not work either. The only thing I could think that could have given me a virus was a no-cd patch for Crysis that I downloaded. whops...

So I'm now going through Dell DataSafe Local Backup to try to restore my system to factory settings and files.
I'm currently booting up the machine, after the backup. And I get the same screen "setup is preparing your computer for first use."
Amazingly, I'm going through all of the original setup prompts just like when I first received my laptop.
    IT WORKS!!!!
Now I'm using the DataSafe Local Backup to restore my Office 2007 programs and Documents, pictures, and music. Should be a happy clean fix.

My last option if this DataSafe backup did not work is reinstalling Windows, which nobody wants to do.

What an amazing program that Dell offers and hopefully I don't run into any snags along the way to restoring my Windows 7 OS
