This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Possible...but unlikely. I got the darn thing to work after calling MS.

    Had same problem with an Acer and found that it was being caused by ad-ware. Ran ad ware remover and problem was resolved.

    I've been running Vista Business on my laptop, and haven't had any activation problems. I have Daemon Tools on it, and use it...

    I just had the same thing happen on my computer! It started by giving me a bunch of error messages about corrupt files, then when I finally got my computer to boot up normally, it now says in the lower corner that my copy of Windows is not genuine. Did you find a solution to this problem?

    My problem was caused by corrupt files, and I had to reload the OS. I permanently fixed the problem by reloading XP...Microsoft was ultimately useless in correcting my problem.
