I recently updated my MSN after like 1 year.

I currently have the mess patch 8.5 installed along with messenger plus! and stuff plug 3 installed.

    Messenger Plus!:
-Allows extra features, some can be useful.

    Mess patch:
-Fully customizes MSN to get rid of useless ads and buttons.

    Stuff plug:
-Allows using FF to check mail instead of IE
-Blinks caps/scroll/num lock keys when someone messages you (useful while in full screen apps)
-Automatically frees up memory when MSN not in use (really cool)

Anyone have that hack compatible with MSN 8.5 that allows you to see people that are appearing offline, blocked you and psychic mode?

I'm using nothing at all in terms of add ons...
Maybe because I'm boring but maybe because I don't care.

I use MSN to talk to people from NBR - ICQ is my "private line" :D (for friends from Germany)

I just use MsgPlusLive with Messenger 2009. I used to have Mess.be patch to remove ads but that's all. I think you can't see people offline and when they open a chat window because Microsoft changed the protocol or something complicated like that... MessengerDiscovery says that it can do that ( http://live.msgdiscovery.com/features_alerts.php) but its not 100% reliable.

You should give Digsby or Trillian a try, the former being free. I've been using Digsby for a while now and would never switch back to the vanilla MSN client.
