    AMD overddrive limits you to 740mhz core and 1000mhz ram but aside from that limitation, it works decently

    To put things into perspective, my 6990m easily goes to 835/1250 so Overdrive would hold me back bigtime

    I'd go trixx for AMD and MSI Afterburner for nvidia

    Nvidia inspector is another popular one for nvidia

    Dr_Gin if you don't know what CAPS are for as indicated in another thread, I would suggest researching OC'ing your rig before you download a program and start frying away your components. These systems are already temperamental enough. Just a suggestion.

    I use Nvidia System tools when software overclocking, as it adds a "Performance" section to the Nvidia control panel.

    What he said. Better to learn what your doing before you get into it.

    Truthfully though I prefer vbios flashing.

    EVGA Precision works perfectly for me... Afterburner has a very low upper limit on the clocks and looks ugly as hell :)...
