Does anybody have a recommendation, I don't need the ability to download/buy book just viewing them is all i need, just as long as it looks good, I use epub format.

    Thanks

    John.

A couple of lists recommend Ice Cream for epub.

I've only ever used Kindle myself.

I tried the ones in the link, some are no longer available, I did a search and tried a few, but the best to my eye seems to be Freda ePub Reader from the Win8 or Win10 store.

    Thanks

    John.

My two cents....I use Nook reader on my Android Samsung 12 inch tablet. I particularity like the way you can automatically look up a difficult word's definition by just hovering my pen over the first letter of the word. A dictionary definition automatically pops up describing that word.

    Hi Tinderbox.
For windows user there is a great "BookReader" application available at Microsoft store. It runs both on Windows 8 and 10 and has multi-column display too.
I hope you will find it useful.

Nook Reader for PC is still available for download, but it's no longer supported, with the last version 2.5.6.9575 in 2011.

It still works on Windows 8.1, and going to My Library => My Stuff you can add local documents from the file system, and it works well.

Here is where I found it just now for download:
    http://www.epubsoft.com/soft/nook-for-pc.html

ePubsoft hosts several ereaders, it's all down to personal preference, try them and decide for yourself :)

    http://www.epubsoft.com/free-software.html

Available there I use, Adobe Digital Editions, Kindle for PC, Nook for PC.

Most of my reading on PC is on Oreilly's Safari, PDF's - through Adobe Reader, and text files.

Most of my reading these days is via smartphone and tablet.

I used to use the nook reader app as well a while ago, worked great. It'd be nice if the Kindle App accepted ePub...
