I have never used it myself, but I heard Partition Magic is a great tool.

For the few times I've tinkered with my partitions I've used Partition Magic.

Though if you're not trying to mess with a partition with an OS, the built in Vista parition manager is fine.

I recently switched from PQ Partition Magic to Acronis Disk Director.

I can tell you, I will never go back. Acronis DD is amazing! So is there True Image.

I've used Partition Magic... and it gave me a huge headache and a corrupt hard drive. Never using that again...

Odd, though, I used it when I still had my IBM Aptiva (This was back in the 20th century, har har) and it worked fine then. Hmm.

I'll give Acronis Disk Director a try, 50 bucks isn't too much to ask for a working software, haha :).

Paragon Partition Manager is excellent; it has more capabilities than Partition Magic, I would say. However both are more than adequate for just making partitions. If you want something free, look into Gparted, which is also very good.
