What are the differences among the following Windows XP versions: Pro, Home, MCE, Tablet?

Can Tablet edition be installed on any normal computer? Or does it have to be a "Tablet PC"?

Does MCE and Tablet Edition have all the feature of Pro?

I don't know about Tablet Edition, but MCE is the same as pro, only lacking the ability to join a domain (though there is a hack to enable it).

    Pro vs. Home

Tablet Edition is for Tablet PCs. They offer support for writing on the screen.

XP Home is geared towards the home user that doesn't need business-like features such as encryption or the ability to join a domain.

XP Media Center adds a media center to play your music, movies, photos and other multimedia files.

XP Professional is for business users that give the ability to join a domain, encryption and better protection.

If you are a "multimedia enthusiast", then get XP Media Center. If you will just use the computer for others tasks than viewing photos or videos as much, get XP Home. If you're a business man with confidential files :D, get XP Professional.

    Hope this helps!

Just to add to smartsam11's post:

Tablet Edition is XP Pro with the tablet PC software added on. There are no other differences between the two.

If you are getting ready to buy a new system, or a new copy of XP, then it's worth noting that if you get XP MCE right now, you will be eligible for a free upgrade to Vista Home Premium (basically the MCE version of Vista) and if you get XP Pro then you are eligible for a free upgrade to Vista Business. If you get XP Home, you only get a discounted upgrade to either Vista Home Basic or Vista Home Premium. It's not nearly as good of a deal. Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of upgrading to Vista soon.
