What are your experiences with sound to text software?

I have been looking at dragon dictate

It looks like it is close to what I want but my laptop at 1.8 GHz is not powerful enough because the program requires 2.2 GHz. I have been looking into more powerful laptop options.

Some things I would like to do are

    1. Say a few sentences and see them transcribed. Then, have them played back to me with each word highlighted as it is being played back to me. Have you found a software that can do this?

    2. Draft papers and speeches. Lie down on a bed, close my eyes and just start saying my thoughts.

    3. Sit in front of a mirror, and practice my interview answers. Have them recorded and transcribed while I am doing it. Go back to my computer, and then fine tune what I said for the interview questions. See #1 above, but basically these two features would be great

Pretty sure my samsung galaxy note pro 12.2 does that with the proper app. Windows can do it also. Look here: Use the dictation scratchpad

You can also google for many paid programs that do it too.

I don't think you will find the perfect solution. Those programs always miss some spoken words or misinterpret your words. Some programs have a learning mode and that takes time to master.

We have used at home dragon software and it is quite accurate but is very dependent on how you pronounce
