    I see for my laptop there are many options such as

    Power schemes are...

    Home/Office Desk
    Portable/Laptop
    Presentation
    Always On
    Minimal Power Management
    Max Battery

    They also have a few others that are similar with (Quickset)

    Can someone tell me which power scheme is the best? Which one gives you more battery and can someone explain whats the difference between all of them

    Max battery = extended batterylife, lower performance
    Desk = high performance, more power use
    Portable = balance

    Just keep it on balanced. Search around, there was a whole discussion on the best profile (I believe in the Windows subforum).

    Those schemes make me think you are running XP. If so, I would just leave it on Portable/Laptop. For Vista and Win7, the Balanced is the best.

    Use balance if your plug-in (or Desktop), and power saver when on battery (if your laptop has a special mode like Dell Extended battery, then you can use that as it usually turn off power to devices to save even more power).
