I am the only user on this laptop, and when i go to C:\Documents and Settings and show all hidden files, there are 5 folders that are in C:\Documents and Settings. Which can I Delete?

    Administrator
    All Users
    Default Users (grayed out/hidden)
    Guest
Johnny Boy (my folder i know i should keep this one)

    Thanks

Is there any specific reason for wanting to delete those? I highly recommend that you leave those folders alone unless you want to take the risk of making your computer unbootable.

    • Administrator is the default admin account created when you install xp; it's a good idea to leave it, in case your account ever gets corrupted, so you can still logon with the hidden administrator account to fix the problem.
    • All Users needs to stay; it contains files and settings shared across all user accounts, but even if you're the only user, some programs store settings and stuff in there, instead of in each individual account folder.
    • Default Users shouldn't be removed either; it has the default settings for if you make a new account; it should only take up like 1MB anyways.
    • Guest is there because you have the guest account enabled; you can disable it in the control panel if you want (1|2); the folder should be gone if you disable the guest account.

So basically, you can disable the guest account, but leave the rest; it's there for a reason.

lol ok thanks I was playing around with the guest accounts creating & deleting accounts and thought it was left there.

I am the only user, so i thought it would be okay, but now i'm gonna leave it alone.

Wait actually I'm not sure if disabling the guest account removes the folder; you should be able to delete it manually afterwards if you want.
