I remeber somewhere that it has to do with my connection to the internet but i cant remeber. It has been giving me ALOT of problems lately. I doesnt shut down when i try to shut down windows.....it then gives mutliple warning messeges. Recently i was playing Source and source just crashed mid game. It then gave me a window saying ccApp was the reason. Also it uses alot of resources when running on Task Manager compared to most of my other applications running.
Could these problems be b/c i recently reformated??? and if this is the problem is there anyway to reinstall it???

ccApp is the program that manages Virus, Spyware, and Firewall software made by Symantec. I'm guessing that you have Norton Anti-Virus installed. If this 'Source' is an online program, then the Firewall might be having issues.
Sorry I don't know more about it, but I do know that ccApp == Norton -
thanks for the quick response.....that makes alot of sense.....i guess i will just disable the firewall while playing.

Or get something better than Symantec/Norton...
AVG, NOD32, Avast, anything... -
I had issues for "ccapp" and followed the instructions below - and now it's all good.
PART 1 (taken from Symantec support page)
Delete the Windows temporary files
Follow the instructions in the document Deleting Windows temporary files for instructions about how to empty the Windows temporary files folder, and then shut down the computer again. If you continue to see the message, then go on to the next section.
Turn off Auto-Protect floppy drive scan on shutdown
Norton Auto-Protect is configured by default to scan floppy drives when the computer shuts down. This message can happen on computers that do not have floppy drives. If your computer does not have a floppy drive, follow these steps to turn off that option.
To turn off floppy drive scanning on shutdown
1. Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus is installed as a part of Norton SystemWorks or Norton Internet Security, then start that program.
2. Click Options.
If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.
3. In the Norton AntiVirus Options dialog box, in the left pane, double-click Auto-Protect.
4. Click Advanced.
5. In the right pane, uncheck Scan floppy disk in A: for boot viruses when shutting down.
6. Click OK.
7. Shut down the computer.
PART 2 (if Part 1 doesn't work- message I got from Symantec)
I understand from your message that system status window is blank after opening Norton Internet Security(NIS) 2006 and also ccapp is shutting down during the system down.
This issue is usually caused by damaged components of Microsoft Windows Script. In order to resolve the issue, I suggest that you reinstall Microsoft Windows Script host.
Please refer to the document provided below for more information:
Note: The following troubleshooting steps will resolve both the issues you are facing.
Title: 'System Status window displays "Refreshing" or is blank after opening Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, or Norton AntiSpam'

ccApp.exe is also, like most processes, a term you can use a search term in Google. That's what I usually do when I want to know what a process does.
What does the program 'ccApp' actually do?
