    Does it measure CPU speed?

I was just curious because according to the NBR reviews of the Asus z81sp and the A8JP, the z81sp scores slightly higher in PC mark 05, which is odd because the A8JP has both a better GPU and CPU.

It is a benchmarking utility used to assign a numerical number to a computer. It is used because the same test process can be done over and over under the same conditions. The higher the number, the better the system performed. Personally i find it more indicative of memory/CPU/hard drive performance than a whole system test (which it is designed to be). I find that there are better options for testing GPU performance. The whole Futuremark series of benchmarks are pretty good, and widely used.
