    What free software allows me to divide a avi movie into short segments?

    I am trying to make a power point that incorporates short movie segments into the presentation, but I don't have a software that does this. I've tried VirtualDub, but it says, "couldn't locate the decompressor for format XVID". So is there any other free video editing software that has this capability?

    download the xvid codec on your pc and try vd again
