This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I've done a little bit a reading and I guess it is just a Web based OS? This is correct?

    Yeah, as far as I understand it, software thats "in the Clouds" is either based on the internet or on an app server. Like... the Google Apps server (think its called Google Gears) is considered in the clouds, because the software the clients use is not installed on their machine.

    Silverlight is another example of this kind of software.

    Thanks for the response. Why would someone want a online OS?!? I don't think I would like that at all, you would have to be connect to the internet everywhere you went...
