Suddenly, when restarting or shutting my computer down, Windows XP Pro tells me the application "ccApp" was not responding and is going to end it now. It then takes a VERY long time to even get to the Logging off blue screen before the restart/shutdown. It also seems to have coincided with my inability for Outlook to connect to my pop server. Thanks!

It is part of Norton AV, it is a common client application.
If you are having problems with slow or freezing , especially with emails(av checker for your email), this is the cause, it is a resource hog. -
This has happend to me as well. Hopefully someone could explain to us why this happens.

It happens sometimes when I shutdown that I get this message "Waiting to shut down non-responsive application ccApp". But it only takes 2-3 seconds for it to go away and the computer shuts down properly.
Still, Norton installations are known to go wrong sometimes and cause these issues. Maybe try reinstalling Norton? -
Guys, if you have ccapp but no symantec products installed, run an adware/spyware scan. ccapp is a symantec application but check out the notes in these links

Thanks for the help so far. I'm going to just try uninstalling Norton alltogether (I don't want to renew it anyway) and just use AVG Free.

I uninstalled Norton a long time ago and am completely satisfied with Avast Pro. The guys over at Symantec have just totally let all their long time customers down with their new software.
Cheers,

What is ccApp?
