I have some CDs that I would like to convert to MP3s.

i usually use format factory can be found here : http://www.formatoz.com/ and its FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used Roxio, but never really been happy with the bloat it puts on your computer when you install the software. My favorite is Dr. Tag Plus!, which I've used for years. It's a CD ripper, yes, but offers so much more!

I just rip mine via iTunes.

Windows media player rips mp3s.

Yeah, I just use iTunes. You have to fiddle with the settings a bit, but you can do it.
-
I use Goldwave (batch process stuff already on the HDD) or Media Monkey for going strait from a CD, the free version is more than enough.
-
Windows Media Player is your best bet that you don't have to download (i'm guessing you have windows... if so u already have it)

But:
Tagging can be "dodgy business" with CDs being recognized incorrectly...
And manually entering the information doesn't work quite either.
An alternative would be Foobar with a lame.dll for lame MP3.
But I would recommend Windows Media Player. -

personally, i use itunes. as mostly any of my cds i own can be found on the store, i can be quite sure about the tagging and all, and it blends with my online purchases nicely.

It also has a handy little feature which will automatically download Artist, Album, and Song information and add it to your MP3's tags. -
Windows Media Player is teh shiet
I have used it as long as I can remember to convert CDs to MP3. Never had any problems with it and I never will have. It's fast and reliable. You can also download one of the free softwares which works just as good. Just Google for CD to MP3 converter.

Exact Audio Copy

Don't know if it's the best as I think all of them does the same thing but I use Windows Media Player.

iTunes, only because tagging is through Grace notes. Grace notes tagging tends to be a bit more accurate than FDBD or Media player.
I have over 1800 albums in my music server in lossless format so get bummed when tagging goes awry. -
Foobar2000. Quick, accurate, error correction, and with support for your drive offset.
-
Another vote for Windows Media Player. Why bother with extra apps when MS tool can just do the trick?
cheers ... -
