    Hey guys. I recently downloaded a few recommended updates for vista. But there are a few optional ones which I didn't download yet.

    One of which is this "UPEK-Other hardware- TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor."

    What does this update do? Does it have anything to do with the fingerprint reader on my notebook?

    Yeah probably a driver update.

    I dont really let Windows update install any hardware drivers because in the past it downloaded and installed the wrong drivers which made the system go haywire.

    Get your drivers from your notebooks website or the hardware manufacturers website.

    i have installed this update, which was showing on windows update.
    everything is working fine, you can update it too.

    also it has nvidia update, which says sep 2008 release. i havent updated it. i d better download it from dell website.

    for UPEK touchchip, you can update, i have updated it also n i have no prob with it :)
