Run CC Cleaner. It is probably a memory dump. Had a BSOD lately?

no BSODs in a long time, ran cc cleaner (though some things were grayed out for me) and the file is still there and still does the same thing...

i just want to know if its safe to delete basically. the DUMP makes it seem like its not integral

Check all in CC Cleaner and let it run.

Dump - its possibly a memory dump.

What are you doing deleting files in the Windows folder anyway?

Anything not labelled temp is best left alone.

And as Wishmaker suggested - run CCleaner - if the file stays, keep it.

I had a monsterous dump once...wife wouldn't go in the bathroom for two hours....

It's always safe to delete a monsterous dump after a reboot.

Ha! Two hours. They designated the facilities a bio-hazard zone for three hours after mine.

Where the heck are you going?
    (Edit: at Gerryf19 and Deathwinger)

By the way: If your "dump file" is in Vista, the HDD cleanup utility built into Windows should be able to remove it if it is unnecessary.

Boot in safe mode if it doesn't show up in "normal mode" - and if its not removed by the Windows Vista utility its possibly needed.

CC Cleaner allows you to select everything. Including the greyed out parts...
