Just thought it would be interesting to get a general idea of what everybody is using operating system wise. If you use more than one, pick the MAIN operating system that you use [i.e the one that you use most often]

Well, in the Windows forum I would assume most people use Windows ;)

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate on both my laptop (32-bit) and desktop (64-bit), courtesy of TechNet.

Well, it's hard to determine what my main OS would be, because I use Windows 7 Ultimate x86 for my gaming, and Vista for other stuff, because I try to keep Windows 7 as clean as possible. I want to keep Windows 7 as fast as possible, so I use Vista for iTunes, MS Office, etc.

My desktop runs Windows Vista Home Premium x86, but I soon hope to have another copy of Windows 7 to install on it.

No point in the poll having those entries though. Obviously if someone is going to have OS X, Unix, Ubuntu or Linux as their main OS, then they aren't going to be on the Windows forum.

Windows Vista 64 bit on my new(ish) laptop and still have XP on my 4 year old, less powerful PC. I'll be switching to Windows 7 on my laptop after its SP1 -- I've learned the hard way, not to jump on the bandwagon too soon -- Need to let Microsoft correct the worst of the problems first.

Should this be a poll based on what is your primary Windows OS?

Lol, wrong forum to ask. Obviously, the results will be skewed towards Windows as this is the Windows forum.

Anyhow, I've dabbled with Red Hat, Mandrake, (K)Ubuntu and even OS X (Hackintosh). Still using Windows. If I had to choose an OS other than Windows, though, it would be Linux with KDE. I just didn't get along with OS X.

Hrm... I wish I could change this to a checkbox-style poll instead of a radio-button one. Multiple selections for those of us who run multiple OSs :)

Windows XP on lappy #1 (wife)
Windows Vista Home 32 on lappy #2 (kids, soon to be W7 Home Premium 32)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on sig lappy #3 (mine)
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on gaming desktop #1 (plan to go W7U64)
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on CAD/CGI desktop #2 (keep as is)

So...I guess Windows is the answer.

(I plan to get a Macbook Pro soon, too. And I will not run Windows on it. Why buy a Mac @ a premium price just run Windows? )
