I have an MPG video file and i wanna capture some frames to turn them into pics. What can i use? ive tried a few differnt programs, but they either freeze everytime i use it (AVD video processor) Or leave a big label through the middle of the pic cause i havent bought it(SnapShots). I need something free and that takes some decent quality snaps.

    Thanks guys

I use WinDVD to take pictures of MPEG video. Also lets you take about 10 seconds of video and turn it into an animated .GIF :)

You may try FRAPS. I haven't used it extensively, but it did help me once in the past.

If the normal screenshot doesn't take proper pictures, its because you need to disable hardware acceleration in order to disable to overlay effect (that black rectangle). You could always use a program, I'd use VLC or MPC
