The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Yeah I know I could open a word document and copy and paste the URL's. But I am looking for something more elegant with everything in one page where I can click to expand forum threads or go to each link and see the forum post titles and which have been responded to.

Yes I know that you can get email reminders for when someone posts in your thread. But I feel like a program like this exists somewhere.

What would you have google searched to find it? I tried
    program combine forum posts
    news feed program forum
I also searched "forum" in chrome extensions

    https://tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php

I went hear to look at the supported forums and they only list phpBB, simple machines, and vBulletin, and a few others. They only list like 12 forums there and I don't happen to be a part of any of them. Not even notebook pc review forum is listed in the supported forums.

When I clicked on the tapatalk activate button the website says "SELECT YOUR COMMUNITY SYSTEM"

    I don't have a community or a system.

Nah, man. They aren't referring to forum names. They are referring to the forum's underlying software. NBR currently uses Vbulletin. It will be switching to Xenfro in the coming days ahead.

Tapatalk works on the majority of forum on the net. Give it a try. Though Alexhawker asks the appropriate question: What device are you using to access forums on?

I don't think Tapatalk has a PC app - it's designed for use on phones and tablets.

See this quote from their website (bold added by me for emphasis) : "If you've ever tried to follow multiple forums on a mobile browser, you know how inconsistent of an experience it can be. We save you time and make it easy to follow all of your favorite online communities on your mobile device. "

Actually, it has a metro app, so you can technically use tapatalk on any Windows 8/8.1 computer.

Well, it's pretty recent. It hasn't been out for too long, so it's quite understandable.

Trying it out now. I would rate it OK: decent looking, but lacking in features - for example, I don't see any way to reply with a quote, or like a post.

    1. When I run the tapatalk app, my start menu and bar on the bottom of the screen disappears. How do I prevent this?

    2. Are there some forums not supported?" I searched "style forum" and "ask andy" which is also a style forum and both are pretty well known and I find it hard to believe that it would not be on there. What are some things you would try?

    3. I can't seem to find mapleprimes (help forum for using maple 18 program) either and I am wondering if taptalk indeed doesn't have maplesprimes, style forum, or ask andy, then what is the next best way to organize your forum browsing on a PC? Also cannot seem to find "stack overflow"

By the way how has your experience with your precision m4800 been? I just got one. It has run into problems and Dell is going to fix it in a few days. It was alright for the day it worked pretty fast and the chasis feels as if it is sturdy

You can't keep the start menu while in a "modern/metro" app. If you have a second screen, you will see it there though. It looks like windows 10 will allow windowed metro apps. Alt-Tab/Alt-F4 should still work as normal.

I only use tapatalk for three forums - I saw mention of it in some peoples signatures, so I tried it out.

I'm very happy with my M4800 for my needs and what I paid. I have complaints, but nothing that stopped me from using it happily for almost a year now.

there was a predecessor, board express, that i used on both W8 and WP7/WP8 -- which was a decent holdover until the official tapatalk app was released.
