Flash your BIOS with the software provided by your hardware manufacturer.

Why are you flashing your bios?

Wherever you got the bios usually have one or two loaders. Intel has a gui utility for most of their boards made in the last 3-4 years.

I don't like it but it works, at least on my desktop. ( A UPS is probably a must for doing a flash on a desktop though. I'd certainly recommend it)

Exactly. Anything else means taking a risk of botching your notebook completely.

And even then it's not a guarantee. Don't flash your BIOS unless you understand what can happen, and you have a good reason for doing so.

Says the guy(me) with the custom BIOS splash screen... heh.

i have a problem where, unless I load the bios, hit "load default settings", save and exit, there is a 1 in 4 (maybe 5) chance that my device manager will not detect my wi-fi card and list my external HDD as an unknown device. Sometimes it will just give me a code 10 error for one or both devices. As long as I load default settings in the bios every time I start my computer, I don't have this problem.

I called my reseller about it yesterday and he told me that he had never heard of this problem before and that I Should try flashing my bios.
