What should I use to make an exact copy of the whole hard drive on my laptop. The hard drive is dying and I would like it to be the exact same thing when I put it on the new hard drive.

    Thanks

You want to use ghosting software like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost. I myself prefer True Image -_-

    I myself use Norton Ghost.
And I highly recommend using Norton Ghost.
It works this way, let's say you have your windows partition that has all your files and you want a backup incase anything happens so you could easily restore everything.
You use Norton Ghost to backup your hard drive and save it on either a separate partition or on an external source.
Then when something does happen to your comp, eg. Virus, BSOD, etc.
Simply pop in the Norton Ghost CD and boot from it then select the saved Backups and It'll restore everything back. It's that simple :D.

I just use an external drive, linux boot disc and dd ;) But I'm a nerd. Go pay for Norton if you want a point and click interface.
