I've clean installed two HP notebooks (dv2700t and dv6500t) with the same Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit disc I made from the files downloaded from Digital River when they were still available. I then used ABR to reactivate the systems with individual product keys. Now whenever I use CCleaner to scan for registry errors, the same registry key always pops up, on both notebooks. However, it does not appear on a 32bit vista home basic desktop I clean installed. Here is the CCleaner entry:
    Unused File Extension .DVR HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.DVR
Does anyone have any idea on what this extension is? Could this be a problem of the installation disc itself? I made the disc via vLite.

DVR is a MS Digital Video Recording file extension for storing recorded TV content and was first introduced in XP media center..!!
I dont think it is anything serious unless you are recording TV shows, etc.. :D
You may have made a slight error or missed out on something when doing the VLite....!!
Just delete that registry key and it wont bug you again....

It also shows up as some Desqview, which has something to do with MS-DOS way back in 1998 and is now owned by Symantec for something..
