Show me what programs are accessing the internet on my computer, so if I don't want them to I can block the access using Norton.

Use Microsoft's (free) Network Monitor 3.2, which can be used to identify all processes on your machine that are generating network traffic, as discussed here.

I'd be a little patient and go through the materials available on Microsoft's website (I'd just go to the main page, put network monitor 3.2 in the search field, and see what comes up) and practice with it; it's not that difficult to use.
