    What's a nice free video editing software? Is this Sony Vegas good?

    I think Sony Vegas isn't free. I find Windows Movie Maker (WMM) to be adequate for me. I guess you have already tried it, right?
    Avid FreeDV is good but a bit more complicated than WMM. That's why I prefer WMM I found it quicker and easier to use for me. To be honest, the other free software, I think, just add a bit more effects and other small things to the package.
    There is also the Windows Live Movie Maker beta but I haven't tried it but I think it would a cut down version of the WMM.

    Windows Movie Maker isn't a good piece of software for the experienced user. I would recommend Pinnacle Studio. It's easy and great, but it isn't free :/, but it's definitely worth it.

    Oh, by the way, Sony Vegas isn't free! It's also very good, but you have to be experienced to use it. :)
