Hi, what program is best to monitor the temps of my CPU, HD, and video card?
I've installed both HWMonitor and SpeedFan and both give me different temp values for my CPUs (core 2 duo, about 5-6 deg. C cooler in SpeedFan than HWMonitor). The HD temp reads the same in both programs.
So which values should I trust and which program is best?

There's alot of debate on this. I personally use HWMonitor.

Read here:
Monitoring Notebook Temps: nVidia & ATI, CPU, HDD (being updated now)
and here:
NBR Cooling Central
I personally use:
- RMclock (best for CPU monitoring and undervolting)
- RivaTuner (best for GPU monitoring... even shows temp in-game) -
Thanks guys

Ive been using speedfan for a while now, works fine

Everest, here!

Will the old version work as well with newer hardware? (Everest *is* a good hardware monitoring program & I would like to continue using it, if the old version will give reliable results on newer PCs).
Also, is the lite version of SiSoft Sandra sufficient for home users? (who just need a good overview of the hardware components for reference & not detailed system benchmarks or burn-in tests). -
I looked into everest but I didn't want to pay for it.

Core Temp and GPU-Z work for me, but I just checked out HWmonitor and it looks pretty nice...

speedfan 4 me has always shown the wrong temp so i would say HWmonitor all the way.

I am using Everest. Tried a few others to compare temps (all showed the same), but I think Everest is the best one. Using it to show tempt on CPU, GPU and HDD as tray icons.
