Basically, I can either update my version of xp to vista or do a complete wipe of the computer and start again and lose all my data.

Obviosuly if i chose to start a fresh i would backup all of my current data.

I really dont want to do this, so i want to update instead and keep my data except Ive heard there is a risk.

Ive done 2 virus scans and absolutly nothing found.

Will updating my computer be fine or is it not worth the risk?
