KMPlayer, it's the ultimate movie player and it can play a whole lot more than just from DVD.
    It's free btw. ;)
So is SMPlayer, which is my favourite for Linux but there is a Windows version aswell.
    Cheers.

I use Gomplayer for playing divx and xvid, but for some reason it crashes when i play any dvd`s

It`s a great program otherwise, can somebody else give it a try with a dvd and see if it play`s for them.

GOM Player couldn't play a lot of my .avi
even with the codecs they provided me with. KM Player owns all. Don't bother with GOM, uninstall.

Heh. Windows media player always crashes on me, the audio sucks (like everything else related to microsoft) and you cant stretch video to fit the screen...

Media Player Classic Homecinema with CCCP (codec pack). It plays everything I shoot at it.

Since VLC did those UI changes, it seems sometimes to be sluggish so I'm moving to MPC.

You install the codec / filter pack on Windows. Afterwards any player using DirectShow filters (including WMP) will use them.
