Hi I am off to Thailand in jan for 6 months and my mum and dad have just bought a laptop with built in webcam and speakers.

I have just bought a laptop my self and am about to buy a decent webcam like the logitech 9000.

Any way I have heard and read about skype but unsure if it is the best software to use to talk and see my family.

Its important I get it right now as my family won't be able to install new software etc , I recently used MSN messenger and it was a horrible experience , I dont even mind paying for it if needed.

Just to add has any one done webcam on a wireless connection b4 ? as thats what i will be using in Thailand so I guess that will play a huge part in the connection Quality etc

    thanks !!

I don't see any issues with MSN? I been using webcam with msn for like... 8 years? It's also easier to use than Skype. My parents rather use msn than skype.

agree's with skype or msn, but if you dont want to install anything there is stickam (google it, as i dont want to be thought of a spammer), it uses flash and would let you talk to more than jsut one person at a time.
