I bought 1 for $25 (ultimate) and it works. These wouldn't work unless they were legit keys generated by MS right. Did some one steel a billion keys or is this just MS way of getting it out.

Those are technet keys, do not buy them.

If you have a Microsoft technet account, they give you like 10x Windows 7 keys. It is against the EULA to resell them since its only for personal/development use. If the sellers technet account gets banned so does the keys.

No, the keys remain useable even after the technet account has expired.

I suggest you contact the seller or eBay about this to get a refund. Your key could get deactivated at any time. It only takes a single person to report this to eBay and Microsoft.

Actually if you apply any of the readily available coupons on the web you can get that figure down to $261 or lower for the 1year subscription.

People studying EE/CE/CS in College/Uni usually have a technet account. I have some friends at CEGEP who just had one elective classes as "website design" and they got one for the semester. He sure secured the most possible number of Windows 7 keys

It probably often comes with your job too.

Hmph promoting illegal activities just to save a buck....simply disgusting.

Then when someone goes wrong, they want to go to a legit source for help.

It makes you no better than the individual who is aware of a company's child labour practices but then would buy cause its half the price of the competitor.

are you saying I'm promoting illegal activities? I am not. I simply asked why they can sell these so cheap. I chose not to snitch on this guy because I wont get my money back and the only out come would be my key being deactivated. Why would i do that. How the hell did this get into kids working in some other country for almost nothing. Its definitely not the USA's fault.
So far nothings gone wrong. So your saying if something did go wrong I shouldn't come to this site for help. Yes the US should become self sufficient and then those kids can stay home and make no money at all.

Does that mean you don't shop at Walmart?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. It's just that is easy to become a hypocrite when you set those high standards. Still, I get people from another website bragging about watching newly released movies at home all the time. Still, there a difference between intentionally promoting the sale of pirated material and being duped.

well, if i come over and say i can sell you a new, fresh apple macbook for only 200$, wouldn't you be suspicious?
why wheren't you suspicious when getting real fresh out of the box windows licencees for 1/10th of the price? it's obvious that they can't be "just legal like in the shops"

Oh no need to rub it in Jeeves, I think he got the point. Besides, any of us can be dazzled by a great price. And few people would look a gift horse in the mouth. .

but yeah, he bought it, he got it, and it works. use it while it lasts, why not? :) he at least had no evil thoughts by doing this => imho, i'm fine with him using it.

Well, just hope you don't get caught and become the one guy they make an example of. Same as downloading illegal music like this chick.

indeed. but to relax the chance of the danger a bit, microsoft normally always went the way of "we guess you purchased it from somewhere, and that one made the error". read up the WGA notifications you get on a wrong licensed system. they never blame you (edit: at first.. if you're the one doing wrong, you will get the problem, of course :))

You were deceived by the cheap price. Try to get a refund and get a new valid key.

Lets leave it at that :)
