When playing my fullscreen online games like GunBound and KartRider, if I alt+tab or press the windows key to get to my desktop, my browser windows are hard to look at unless I resize. My rainmeter stuff moves from originally in top right to the middle and its annoying to move them back when done playing. Is it because of screen resolution? I know its not a problem with my PC because my XP desktop and other pc do it too. I was just curious if there was a way to not have my things move and be able to browse easily.
    Thanks.

I don't think games like GunBound offer different resolutions. There's not much you can do about it.

It happens at native resolution too.

I have the same problem with any undocked widgets: undocket Vista sidebar gadgets, Yahoo Widgets, and Rainmeter.

The only ones that stay put are docked Vista Gadgets.

I went through all the trouble of getting the exact Rainmeter configs: got an exact Vista sidebar clone set... tons of other custom ones, too...

but once I noticed that full screen games squish them all in a line in the center, I switched back to Sidebar for the sole reason that, even though it's far less customizable than Rainmeter, it stays where I put it.

If someone has a solution please let me know.

actually you were the one who helped convince me to switch to rainmeter. I spent a great deal of time looking through all the configs on customize.org and found exactly the ones I want... even found a program launcher just like Vista Sidebar had... but obviously rainmeter blows Sidebar away in terms of other features.

But this issue, if unresolved, is a deal-killer for me.

I'd rather be limited to only a clock, calendar and vistas cpu monitor and launcher but have them stay put.

...when it happened to me, i was so frustrated I just switched back to Vista and didn't feel like even trying to explain the problem on here to get help. But now that I see I'm not the only one, perhaps a solution is out there or in the works.

Just untick "keep on screen" on all of your rainmeter skins, so that when you play a game in a lower resolution, the skins are not repositioned to remain on screen.

This works for me. When you get back to the original resolution, the skins are on place

Too much of a hassle, might as well just exit rainmeter before playing. Doing that for each skin would take awile.
