I just finally got my computer up and running on the most basic version of Vista. That is, no programs or drivers installed yet. Do I need to install all of these before running the vista upgrade disc to go from home premium to ultimate or can/should I wait until I upgrade to Ulitmate? I have all the original Dell Driver discs to use, I just wasn't sure if I should wait or install them now.

    Thank you for your help.

    Here's my input again:

Do you need to instal the OEM version first?

On XP I could instal an XP professional update on my Medion by just veryfying I had a full Vista disk by putting it into the drive during the installation.

But the Urpgrade disk may work differently...

    Anyway:
You want as little "stuff" as possible when you upgrade - so I'd suggest installing your upgrade first, and then installing all the drivers.
Also, clean up your disk (temporary files, defragment it) before installing drivers.
