When can we buy Vista with SP1 already integrated in the DVD? Any rumors? I am thinking of buying it from Official Windows Marketplace. Good deal. Just $13 and you get the original disc but without the serial number. You can use your old serial number.

Amazon has it.

or you can slipstream sp1 into a normal disc with this guide:

Newegg has it too, but the retail only. The OEM's don't have SP1 integrated yet.

Wow, that's an interesting link. I'm surprised vLite allows you to do that. As of right now, slipstreaming is not supported for Vista, so I wonder how that disc will turn out, and how it compares to the "official" SP1 discs.
-
You have to specify which version you want when slipstreaming with vlite, so if you slipstream business version, the disc will only work with business version.
The official version can be used to install any version of Vista (Business, Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate) as long as you have the right serial number. -
They don't show SP1 anywhere.
-
Not yet, but I imagine it wont be too long before it's available.

i have one..

1. Download SP1. Install
2. Download SP1. Burn, install to any system.
3. Download SP1. Copy to external usb drive, install on any system.
Make sure you have the right version x32 or x64.
Why pay for shipping and a disc when you can just download the file? -

A clean format with SP1 already integrated is better than installing SP1 afterwards.
It's kind of like have XP Media Center Edition and upgrading to XP MCE 2005 after each format. Takes more time and you still have unused and useless registry files/system files that aren't needed anymore. -

I agree. Not to mention, some of us like to do fresh installs on a somewhat regular basis, so having an integrated or slipstreamed disk is much nicer. I would easily pay $15 right now to have an official Vista with SP1 install disk. -
I stayed away from re-formatting a long time ago if I don't have to. It takes an incredible amount of time reloading all the programs and essentially end up with almost non-existent speed difference. I just use a registry cleaner to get rid of all excess but no program guarantees to completely "clean" it. A clean install sometimes won't go without a hitch and end up in frustration. Running SP1 from a download was smooth, all programs and drivers works!

Again, I must remind users to follow forum rules...torrent downloads of Vista are illegal and definitely not safe.
