Does anyone know? I know there have been trials and stuff, but has it been finalized? Also does anyone here use thunderbird as their e-mail? How is it?

I would expect that there will be only minimal changes between FF3RC1 and the released version, if any.

There will be more add-ons and themes updated to be FF3 compatible. You might want to read this and the links contained therein.

I used Thunderbird for years and actually switched to Outlook this year because I wanted a single repository of contacts, calendar, and tasks that was shared between my PC and my PPC and I did not want to have to run a bunch of add-ons and extras to build that bridge.

Yup, as stated RC1 is out right now and the final release should be some time next month.

I too use Thunderbird for my email. I have Outlook 2007, but right now, I don't need all the features and I like Thunderbird's simplicity.

FF is out.... Fairly good so far...

Outlook is definitely the tool you want if you need "everything" in one place or have a treo 700wx like I do. Outlook is a seriously great program, but not everyone needs the power of outlook. If you don't need it "all" then don't waste your money.

Thundertird is great in its own right... if you only need email and a free program. I've used it in the past, and still recommend it for others to use.

The other email program that I find more and more people using is windows live mail... it is free and a great program. I don't care for it since I use outlook and because you must sign in with a windows live account in order to access your other accounts. No big deal, since it is such a smooth program, but I'd rather use something else.

Many email users I know are switching to it to download their imap gmail.... they swear by windows live mail.... http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview Then again, I guess many of us also have a windows live account anyway, so no big deal.

    Hi.

I am using Firefox RC1, and it works great, but most add-ons are not compatiable at the moment!

    Regards

    John.

u might want to check it manually (tools->add-on), devs in this area have been very active, with new version compatibility popping up with each and everyday

    cheers ...

I m not sure about this, wishful thinking, but i hope that it is not the case; since
moz still has some issues with a few core plugins and is awaiting updates from its partners.

    cheers ...

I can't wait, seeing all the improvements. A potential two to three times increase in speed and significantly reduced memory usage sounds great to me, especially when your internet browser is most people's most frequently used application.

Until Google release Toolbar for FF v3 I won't install new version, even old v2.0.0.14 has huge problems with memory leakage :(.

Add-ons can now bump compatibility without bumping the version, so many may take that route.

I use Thunderbird, and overall, can't complain.
It's an email client, and nothing else though. If you need all the half dozen other features that Outlook provides, don't bother with Thunderbird.

If you just need an email client that's simple to use and set up, Thunderbird is great.

First, one of the major points about Firefox 3 is that it's fixed a lot of memory leaks.
So the fact that 2.0.0.14 has memory leaks is not a reason to stay with 2.0. On the contrary, that should be a reason to upgrade as soon as possible.

About Google Toolbar, I don't get it. Why do people use this for Firefox?
What's wrong with the standard searchbar? What exactly does Google's Toolbar give you that's so essential?
